Tweaks? My FPS suck!

The freespace open stuff does not work no, we are using a heavily modified version.

Lemme see if I can find a solution for you though.

Edit: Try the command line option "-no_glsl"

Thanks Keldor! -no_glsl helped A LOT, particularly with smaller capships, but taking off and landing is still extremely difficult. I appreciate the thought and effort on my behalf, though. Any other ideas?

Is it absolutely impossible to run WCSaga in 800x600?

No, 1024x768 is the lowest possible resolution. Aside from using -no_glsl and lowest possible details settings there's really not much more you can do.

Well the demo uses a LOT LESS in terms of model geometry and pure number of models. The final relase simply has higher requirements, sorry. But with -no_glsl and low details you should really be fine... is it still unplayable?

Unfortunately. Stupid crappy work laptop. It works great with small ships in open space, but the asteroids in the second mission are really tough to fight in. And once I get close to the Wellington to land, it's like a slide show.

I realized that the cmdline_fso.cfg in the Documents>Volition>WCSaga>Data folder kept getting overwritten with a file who's contents were only -fov and then some numbers. So I looked in the Prologue and saw that cmdline_fso.cfg was in the Program Files>WCSaga Prologue>Data folder. So I took the cmdline_fso.cfg from the PF>Prologue>Data folder and put it in the PF>WCSaga>Data folder and outside of getting an error on load everything runs very smoothly - even taking off and landing!

The contents of my cmdline_fso.cfg in the PFiles>WCSaga>Data folder are: -ambient_factor 75 -no_emissive_light -2d_poof -cache_bitmaps -ship_choice_3d -wcsaga -snd_preload -no_glsl

-2d_poof gives the error
