Help needed on 2nd mission

Hi, I'm having trouble getting anywhere on the 2nd mission, Oberan 2 (I think). You have to escort a vessel to the Eddings Jump point, and you have a whole bunch of wingmen with you. I have no navpoint in this mission, and after 30 - 45 minutes, the vessel I'm escorting stops and starts doing all sorts of acrobatic moves (mainly looping over and over). So I'm stuck on this mission and cannot progress. Seeing as there's no navpoint that I'm within 950 clicks of, I can't use autopilot either. Please help me out as I would like to play this game through.

Try to get really close to the center of the transport.

Okay, just to clarify, the transport you're referring to is the vessel I'm escorting, the BS-80, or whatever it's called?

30-45 minutes? The entire mission shouldn't last that long. Are you getting close to the transport so you link autopilots? The waypoint won't come up until you do that.

Yup.

I was following the wrong vessel, it turns out. There was a shuttle called BS-80 that was inside the carrier that I nearly slammed in to when trying to launch. I thought I had to escort him. Kind of confusing, but reading my orders more carefully, I had to follow the larger ship, the TCS whatitsname. I got there in the end, finished the mission and progressed.

FYI, for future escort missions where the odds are not so much in your favor, the "E" key will cycle through the list of ships on the right hand side of the HUD that you are either supposed to keep alive or kill. You can add and remove ships from the list using Alt-E, I think.

Correct. It is alt-E. I tried that in game and it had the TCS ship but also added the BS-80 when I tapped it. That's part of what led to the confusion.
