blue screen was created by jklier
I had a successful install of the game but upon launch I get a blue screen. I've tried disabling all unnecessary processes but that didn't help.

System is running XP, 2.4ghz and 2GB memory.

Any ideas?

Welcome on board jklier :)

That's the first case (blue screen) i know. Please give full system specs.

Btw it's not needed to disable cpu's, i also have XP and i have a Quadcore without any problems.

Wait, that's not true. On german forum we have also one blue screen case and there an outdated graphic driver was the problem.

Ah, that could be it. It's been a while since I upgraded the driver. I'll try that. In the meantime here are some more specs.

CPU - Intel Dual Core 2.4ghz
Memory - 2GB
Graphics Card - Nvidia GE Force 7950GT 512MB
Directx 9.0

Tried the video driver, no luck. Tried upgrading the sound driver, BINGO that got it. Thanks for putting me on the right path.

I recently read about Chris Roberts starting a new project. That caused me to do a search on Wing Commander which subsequently lead me to this site. I played all of the WC games in the 90's and still look at them as one of the best gaming experiences I've had.

Thank you so much for doing this. I'm looking forward to reliving some of those experiences.

Sound driver? Ok, thanks for response.

A hint: there are two campaigns in TDD. It's recommended to start with the Prologue Campaign, it's a tutorial for some of the controls and it's the antecedent to the main campaign story. See here . You can switch at every time to the prologue.
