Oh, okay. So the sound error is a "side effect" from the gpu driver problem?

Okay, after a bunch of updates being installed at startup, i tried it again today and now I can play WCS!!! Only problem i can find now is the same as on my old comp that i was playing on, in the prologue as soon as i got to the asteroids everything slowed down immensely,until i was clear of the asteroids. How can i make my game run better when there is a lot on the screen?
