Welcome aboard. There are several reasons for the described error message. Generally speaking: updating your GPU drivers should do the trick (unless, of course, your GPU does not support the required OpenGL specifications).
A couple of questions: What type of computer do you have..and have you gone to the manufacturers web site to see if they have posted updates. Is this the only graphic card in your computer, this card is frequently matched with an intel card and it can create problems. If you have an intel card as well, you may have to do some internet searching looking for tech answers. Some one on this site may also have a good answer, so don't give up.
