X-52 throttle axis was created by chalkman
Firstly a huge thanks for all the effort it took to do Saga. So far it is running perfectly on my machine and looks fantastic. My question is it possible to use the x-52 throttle axis? i don't see a way to do it, and in options is doesn't seem to recognize it. Thanks for your replies.

Yep. Bind absolute throttle axis in the options.

In order to do the binding, just double-click the control you want (in this case "absolute throttle axis"), and then wiggle that axis on the stick (in this case, slide the throttle up and down).

I did that exactly before i left for work this morning and was not getting a response. I have a couple other USB devices connected (keyboard, mouse, G13 keypad) could those be causing an issue FWIW i cannot get the joystick working in WC3 either. Saitek doesn't have a driver anymore for x52 (only x52 pro) so with windows 7 it provides its own driver. Perhaps the issue is there. IS absolute throttle axis a button or option?

Well, you can check under the windows control panel to see if it recognizes the throttle axis. If the driver doesn't see that axis, then the game won't either. You can also try unplugging your joystick and plugging it back into a different USB port; it really shouldn't make a difference, but there are multiple reports of that fixing joystick issues. Isn't Windows fun? (I suppose you could wait for the Linux release, but I don't know off the top of my head what the evdev drivers would do with an x52, so there's no gurantee it would work better there. My Cyborg Evo works quite nicely under Linux, including the throttle, hat, etc.)

Oh, and the "absolute throttle axis" is just a control that shows up in the list with all the other ones. There are separate controls for "absolute throttle axis" and "relative throttle axis"; you could bind them to two different controls, though I've no idea why you would want to. Basically, the "relative throttle axis" would make sense for something like a "standard" joystick/gamepad stick, which has a spring so it re-centers when you're not pushing on it. The "absolute throttle axis" is the control you want when your "throttle" stays put when you let it go, which is what all dedicated throttle controls do.

Was having trouble with my joystick. The Launcher recognized it, but I guess the game itself didn't. Changed it from a usb 3.0 port to a 2.0 port and now it works as intended.
