Spinning out of control with joystick

Hello,

I'll start by saying I've read the How To for Joysticks , and it did not resolve my problem. I did not see a similar post in the forum.

When I enable a gamepad (Xbox or Logitech), the ship spins as if the axis are being pressed. I've tried re-mapping the axis, but that does not help. Other functions mapped to the gamepads seem to work fine. I'm running Win 10, and the gamepads are calibrated correctly. I'm sure it's something simple, but I haven't been able to correct the problem. Any help is appreciated.
