OSX support was created by Plumber
Just throwing out the OSX support thing again. Been playing BSG online while waiting. Spent over $100.00 on that.
You guy's are missing the boat not charging for this. their making millions of dollars. Your time and effort is worth it and people are willing to pay. I understand you are doing this out of love for the game. but if you got rich doing it, and the rest of your life was easier because you gave this to the world, that would be o.k. to.
There are few people like yourselves (developers of this game) The gratitude of the community (wold wide) seems insufficient. So this week I am going to help someone who needs it. Wounded Warrior Program looks like a good place to start. Keep the faith. Thanks for the game.

The thing is, they can't make money using the Freespace Open engine even if they wanted to.

I assume you've tried Diaspora ?

You sound pretty much like our target audience (sim fan/BSG fan). Hopefully that will give you something you can play on OSX while waiting for the code. And skills learned playing Diaspora will translate quite well to WCS.

As for the code itself, I don't want to sound like a dick but seriously, what's taking you so long? If you don't want me to publicly release it I can stick it up on the SCP internal and only port the parts I want to FS2_Open but I have been waiting for 6 months for the code and that is somewhat of a kick in the teeth given how much WCS was improved by code I submitted.

Not to mention that a public release would allow someone to compile the binaries on OSX & linux. Or heck, I'd just like to be able to compile an INF build (I hit the ship limit doing a WCS-FS crossover mod).

Guys, if it was just as simple as "recompile and done" we would have done it by now. We need to modify it and also clear some stuff up first.

Yeah but how long does it take to zip up the code folder and send me a copy? Even if it's not the final version you use for OSX, it's still likely to be of some use to the SCP.

Hi guy's. I just read the last update and got my vote in. You all certainly deserve the merit for this game. And hopefully that merit has helped you all in your personal / professional pursuits. As I believe your work may be a large part of Chris Roberts decision to return to this game arena.
On the OsX topic. I like to throw some barbs but I hope they are received in the spirit intended (to let the devs.know they have a fan base there). I can not extend enough appreciation to the developers for their dedication and time. And if or when the mac osx version is available I will fully enjoy it. Until then the P.C. version works just fine.
On another subject I really dislike when someone selectively dissects things that I post and twists them into a negative post. I tend to speak my mind at the time I am reading other posts and sometimes my mind wonders. Not much I can do about that part. ( the evils of social media). And thats my rant for today.
Thank you for the game, Keep the faith.
