- The Lexington did not come out after the Kilrathi war.
- The Temblor bomb was specifically designed to destroy Kilrah and there were only two protorypes ever built of which one came into action. What on Earth would you want to do with one anyway? On a normal planet it wouldn't do anything.
- As for the Flashpacks, those are designed about 3-4 years after this game.
Apart from this one I have only ever played the very first one on the amiga the 3rd and 4th so all the other ones made in between i missed, I just assumed the lexington was only made after the kilrathi war becasue it only appeared in wc4 from how I saw it. I agree thinking about the trembler bomb it doesn't serve any purpose in game unless its a mission to get close to a planet and a cutscene takes over.
However I only suggested those simply for the mission editor. After all there are many games out there that have all kinds of mods and extras, some are completely irrelevent and completely out of tone of the game its made for, but people still use them because its nice to have the option.
That said there could be some people who would want to use the mission editor to create missions based after the kilrathi war like confed vs border worlds, but again that would also mean creating a whole bunch of new ships for that and I wouldnt expect or ask anyone to build a borderworlds fleet when this game is already awesome as it is... but then again as I said its nice to have the option, lol.
But no seriously I appreciate all the work thats gone into this and love the game, If I had the know how behind all the programming and all the stuff thats gone into it, I would go off and remake the wc 3 game using all the old fmv sequences and using the mission editor to recreate all those old wc 3 missions, I would call it wing commander 3 reloaded, however I wouldnt know where to start.
As far as the age of the TCS Lexington goes, she was under repair in Sol when the Kilrathi invaded Sirius in 2668 and fought in the battle for Earth, she took so much damage during the battle that she did not reenter service until 2670. According to the Wiki entry on WCNEWS anyway. Not sure what the specific source is. www.wcnews.com/wcpedia/TCS_Lexington_%28CV-44%29
As to what she did during her service before the Battle of Earth, or how long she has actually been in service, it does not say. The Concordia class carriers are very similar in appearance to Yorktown class carriers like the Victory, so they may share a similar time in service. The Victory was described as having had a "Very Long" history of service in the Confederation, and that Captain Eisen served as a young comm officer during her maiden voyage.
The wiki puts the TCS Victory as being in service since the 2630s, while the Bengal Class TCS Tiger's Claw did not enter service until 2644 (though the first Bengals entered service in 2619). The Confederation Class Dreadnaughts like the TCS Concordia didn't enter service until 2661.
