Southampton

Southampton

Class: Destroyer

The smallest capital ship with true offensive capabilities, Southampton-class destroyers serve a “jack of all trades” role in the Terran Navy. These versatile and multi-purpose vessels can be found as part of carrier battle groups or in destroyer squadrons or even alone. Very well shielded and armored for its size, they are capable of engaging both capships and fighters with either its powerful energy weapons or its array of missile tubes. In addition, these fast and maneuverable warships can run down any capship in the Kilrathi arsenal.

Tallahassee

Tallahassee

Class: Heavy Cruiser

The Tallahassee-class is a powerful heavy cruiser that can take and dish out considerable amounts of punishment. Its “brute force” concept of firepower is centered about a keel-mounted Mk III Plasma Cannon and multiple batteries of Anti-Matter Guns and missile tubes.  They also can deploy a small detachment of fighters and utility craft for independent flight operations. As invaluable fire-support for fleet operations and orbital bombardments, these cruisers are warships that any Admiral wouldn’t mind having more of.

Yorktown

Caernaven

Class: Light Carrier

The Yorktown light carrier, designed more than fifty years before the Kilrathi War, is still proudly serving in the Navy. Constantly modernized and refitted to keep up with modern times, they are invaluable support to larger Confederation carriers. Though well shielded, the light carrier wields only defensive laser turrets and a capship missile launcher, counting on her four squadrons of fighters for protection.

The Kilrathi naval build-up of the past few years and the Confederations losses incurred during the Battle for Earth have forced these venerable light carriers into front line duty.

Lexington

Lexington

Class: Heavy Carrier

After the terrible losses from the Battle of Earth, the Lexington-class is the new backbone of the Terran Fleet. More then a match against their Kilrathi counterparts, these heavy carriers can take critical hits in multiple launch bays and still maintain flight operations. As traditional carriers, they have minimal weapons and must rely on escorting warships for support, but they do possess a full compliment of fighters and the heaviest shielding and armor this side of a starbase. The majority of these vessels have been withheld from the front to defend Earth and the Inner Colonies.
