Right this minute I finished the storyline of Wing Commander Saga (on easy, as I have to admit).
And...well...I am far from speechless.
Remember "Wayne's World" and the scene with Alice Cooper?
"We are unworthy, we are dust..."
Thought long enough about it, but:
I would have had NO idea of how a better successor of Wing Commander Series could look like.
The storyline - intense.
The missions - hard, but accomplishable.
The graphics - for such an old engine, marvelous.
The controls - ergonomic.
The selection of fighters - well, okay, there COULD have been more. A Centurion, maybe. Still, extremely thoughfull.
The cutscenes - not too much, not too less.
All in all, I AM speechless. In the end, two people gave us, what millions of dollars have not been able to.
THAT is what I call passion and devotion.
And now enough of this pathetic stuff.
Time to ... play it in Hard
Oh yeah. Edith likes to add: she totally digs "M.D." No idea, where you got this particular idea from *ahem*
There is already a gap between easy skill level and medium, so between easy and hard... It will be a challenge. Good luck and godspeed when you have to kill a wing of Pakthans - keep an eye on your damage level ! Adjust power levels, soften the first bomber with a missile and make fast and quick attack passes on afterbuner. Try glide (Alt-G) too. These hints are valuable also for Corvettes.
Anyway, remember that you could always change the skill levels between missions (not during a mission, though).
And thanks for your... thanks.

I also have finished the missions. I had 134 kills in the last mission. It was awesome. i am going to do it again I'm Medium. This old joy stick took a beating but held up. I do have a blister on my hand. I read the credits and it looks like you have a sizable team. I again wanted to thank them for the game play. I will continue monitoring this forum for news but I have no more input that hasn't already been said. I guess you can say that this game rendered me speechless. ASF Stoney Out.
My first run through Darkest Dawn was after marathoning WC1 through Prophecy, then Standoff and by comparison Saga was amazing. I just got done marathoning SCP FS1, FS2 and some of the mods, (I've been under a rock with regards to GOG.com and the fan made WC/FS games, apparently, and have turned into an off-the-wagon addict), anyway; compared to the game engine you built this game from all I can say is un-flipping-believable! Playing Saga after playing the previous WC games felt like you guys just made a great WC game, but coming back to it after playing Freespace gave me a so much more contrasting perspective of what you guys have done.
