STOP working in any other resoltion than 1024x768 using AMD

Hi,
I can only start the program with the minimal resolution 1024x768.
In any other resolution I get simply a black screen. If I change to the desktop windows is telling me WC has stopped working.
I am using Win7 64 with 4GB of RAM. AMD 5700 series.
The driver should have been updated to the newest one. A couple of days ago STEAM initialized the update.
However the Device Manager says
Driver Date 14.02.2012
Driver Version 8.950.0.0

Any idea on that?

Check in the driver settings whether "Triple Buffering" is disabled (unchecked). Because the game does not seem to like that particular option. Again: It has to be disabled.
