It is no argument that Kilrathi starships have a different philosophy then the Terrans. While Terran warships are basically mobile fire support platforms from afar, Kilrathi warships are just another means for a frontal attack. For the thrill of the hunt, Kilrathi will not think twice about sending their starships to fight in the thick of the fray. Their naval design even encourages ramming other capital ships if necessary.

Compared to Terran starships, Kilrathi starships have crude damage control systems and lighter armor and shielding; however, they emphasize on firepower and maneuverability. To emphasize their role as active offensive platforms, the majority of the weapons and armor are normally focused forward and the sides, with less protection to the rear. Kilrathi starships cannot survive on a 1-on-1 engagement with their Terran counterparts, but there are many more of them in service.
