We are beta!
DATE: 2011.08.03
We would like to thank everyone who submitted an application to help us beta test the Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn. If you have been selected as a beta tester, we had already contacted you at the e-mail address that you have provided for us. If you have not been selected, please don't feel bad or take it personally. We received a very large number of very well-qualified applications, putting us in the difficult position of trying to decide how to narrow things down and choose a more focused number of beta testers. Thank your all for your interest and support, it has been nice to see your enthusiasm. We look forward to this beta test and hope that it will allow us to provide you with a very polished game experience when the game is released. Whether or not you were chosen as a beta tester, you will be able to get your chance to try Saga soon enough.

Am I too optimistic, when i think the easter bunny will bring a very fine present this year?

Saga will not be released in an episodic way. And we will not even consider such a thing.
Quote : Honestly, I'm looking forward to the idea of having episodes after the initial release. I remember that with WCV:SO being released a little at a time on the web and loved it!

We are beta!
Honestly...
Can't wait till the full game is released.
I've been watching you quite a while, though I originally never intended to play Saga... That's because I thought "you're way too old for this" (I was 14 when WC3 was released in 1994!).
BUT as your work kept improving and your designs got better every year, I really started thinkin.
Hell, out of curiosity I even played the Prologue the first time this weekend and ... damn ...
Good old memories!! - Just a lot better this time: atmosphere - same, if not better; grafics?! - all WCs should have been this way; story - great!
You really got me back into all of this again. So thanks. It surely feels good to toast those furballs again.
Keep on your excellent work!

P.S.: Been thinking about re-doing your "manual" in the way of WC Armada... are you interested?

The third project - and the best !
WC Saga is the third software project i'm waiting for along with BlackMesa source and Duke Nuk'em forever.
I have play with the prologue and found the gameplay totally immersive (despite the language - english and not french). I have promise to myself to buy a good joystick the day the game will be released.
100000 thanks for your hard work. I have play WC1 ( SM1 et 2), WC2 ( SO1 et 2), WC3, WC4. I recently played through all these games again with this wonderful tool : DOSBox ( D-Fend). Now, I wait for the game which I feel will be even better than the original.

Nostalgia
Imagine my surprise when I happened to do a wiki search on one of my favorite old games and found out that a new project had been in the works for many years. I feel lucky and fortunate to have stumbled upon this so late in it's development so that I don't have to wait impatiently for years as many here have.
I was 12 years old when WC1 came out and it is so ingrained in my mind almost 18 years later that it makes me feel like a kid again looking at all of the work you've put in and the way it makes me feel. I haven't really ever loved games like I did back then and am looking so forward to playing your adaptation. Game design, characters, and gameplay have never been the same since the heyday of Origin/Sierra et all.
Sometimes I wish I could get in a time machine and just be a kid again with all of these great memories and games, but I thank you so much for taking such a fond place in our minds and rebuilding it again so that we can be a kid just one more time. Can not wait to donate for all of the time and effort you guys have put into this.
Many thanks from a nostalgic old nerd.
