I somehow missed seeing this before now, the new models look great. They appear to be near the same level of detail or better than the models used in the WC4 cutscenes.
The Arrow, Excalibur, Longbow, and Thunderbolt, Look darn near flawless. Any flaws I do see on them appears to be a trick of the lighting (Excalibur) or an optical illusion (Arrow) due to the viewing angle.
The Hellcat seem does seem to have some sharp lines that could be softened in places. I am sure that a little anti-aliasing would take care of it in an instant.
Finally, I noticed that the high resolution (HTL?) models of a number of FreeSpace 2 ships have transparent canopies and visible cockpit interiors. So I was wondering why don't the Wing Commander ships have the same? Is it stylistic choice or a time saving endeavor? Just curious.
