cant get through this mission as stalker continually crashes into me,very frustrating help!

There are many ways to get through this mission. One is to save as many of your missiles as you can to use when you engage stalker. Another is to up your shields, lower your engine power and keep your guns active. Also, save as much afterburner juice as you can for this engagement, then when he comes after you, jump out of his way, spin and fire. Remember you have ECM for his missiles; however, don't count on them always working. Hope this helps.

Well, the problem isn't that he is dangerous with his guns and missiles, it's that he is still chasing you when cloaked and therefore keeps bumping into you without you being able to do much about it.

You could use short afterburner bursts while changing the direction at a high frequency (bunny), so that he isn't able to bump you. Anyways, I didn't experience that kind of issue in my play-throughs - Are you flying very slow in that mission?

Well, I did that once, but bumped into him anyway, which killed when because one his friends also bumped into me at full speed in the first part of the dogfight. I also tried the sitting turret tactic once, hoping he would just fly circles around me but he scratched my last 1% aways. I'm gonna have a couple more playthrough, then lower the difficulty to medium, that should make me strong enough to survive his bumps and give me a few more shots in frontal assaults. And make him turn slower.

I know I'm old but I thought I was at least a good pilot. I've made it thru very easy and easy but in Medium I crash on take off. lol. I think I've reached my limit in this game but it has been fun.

Sorry for resurecting an older thread but this mission has been driving me up a wall on Medium. I finally got through it and wanted to share the strategy that worked for me.

[spoiler:do90krts]Before you get to Stalker don't be too aggressive with your engagements; conserve counter measures and fuel. Having a few missiles left for the solo engagement with Stalker will help end it faster too.

When you get to the sortie with the stealths do not engage them until they are out of missiles. I'm not sure if all of them have missiles or only Stalker or if Stalker just has more. Start off just waiting until the stealths uncloak then dodge the incoming missile(s). Drop a CM for each missile and get on the burners until you've evaded them. Try to keep it to one CM per missile or you will very likely run out. If a fighter strays into your gun sights go ahead and take a few shots but wait until you stop getting missile warnings to truly engage. Also, do not engage them head on; Stalker definitely has dumbfires that WILL NOT set off a missile warning. Again, not sure if the other stealths have dumfires. Just fly past, your turret will take a few shots and hope next time you approach at an angle that favors you. Also, if you stay near Avatarr you will not be targeted as much. Avatarr will also engage so the enemy fighters will often turn away from you to go after or get away from him and you can lock on a heatseeker.

When you face Stalker alone do the same thing (he gets his missiles replenished) and once he's out of missiles, again, tap the afterburner while he is cloaked every few seconds and stay in a slight bank or dive. This will screw up his pattern and he'll often uncloak before he is behind you allowing you to get behind him and lock on a heatseeker. Eventually he will have enough damage that smoke from his fighter will be visible when he is cloaked. At this point stay on his tail, hopefully you'll have enough fuel, and shoot at the smoke to finish him. He may even uncloak and let you finish him with one last heatseeker. I had 1% hull going into the solo engagement and obviously finished without a scratch.[/spoiler:do90krts]
