Keeping the Wellington alive?

Postby Dualhammers » Sun Apr 01, 2012 9:31 pm

I am finishing up the prologue and I must say I am super impressed. THe fluid nature of these missions makes them feel extremely realistic, but being the perfectionist I am I want to try and keep the TCS Wellington alive.

What is the best strategy? Can I protect the two bombers and get them to take out the cruiser, or is it scripted so that I always end up losing the Wellington?

Hi,

afterburn to light destroyer. Select it as an target. Use 'k' to cycle through the turrets as sub-targets, one of them reads: launcher.

Destroy launcher. (Get close into shield bubble, use glide).

The only thing that made it hard is that I can't seem to get the auto-glide to work right. I destroy all nearby turrets covering the launcher then I run parallel under or atop the launcher, I match speed with the destroyer, and then I auto-glide. I should have been matching speeds with it while chipping away at the launcher but I found that I gradually was being left behind by the destroyer.

Help?

(I finished the mission by the way, just curious why I was slowly being left behind even if I pushed "m" already and auto-glided.)

you can also try to hit the engines with your heat seekers to stop it from getting close

Thanks but the auto-glide is what's bugging me right now; methinks I might need it again soon.

i cant seem to get past the Heavy Destroyers now. I press K to target the Turrets and aiming right on to the turrets and its doing no Damage at all.

You must target the launcher first. Get close, within the shields.
