Skipping might only work if you play it 5 times in a row (using replay in the debriefing). if you go back to the flight deck, you might reset the counter, i'm not sure. I'll look into it when I got some time.

It would be good if restart from last checkpoint also was counted as failure. This way you don't have to sit it out.
In fact, any kind of retry or abort should be counted as failure, but I guess it's either complicated to do with freespace open or you don't want people to skip parts of the game (which is understandable).

Do the Image Recognition missiles pursue a target even if it's cloaked? It looks like this at 15:50 in the video, but it may also just have been a lucky coincidence that the skipper missile simply ran into the approaching IR missile.

We love our fans and are aware that two or three people are having issues intercepting skipper missiles in time. We are listening to feedback, so if you are still stuck in Nifelheim, give this update a try. Just place the file in the *your installation folder*\data\missions and reload the game. Mind you, this will not be part of future updates.

The Problem with this mission is that repeating it does not actually give you the chance to repeat the part where you fail most of the time.
Most of the time you fly, listen to people, fight a few minor fights. And then for the last (i hope) part of the mission the really difficult skipper interception breaks my neck everytime i try this mission.
That's just frustrating game design.
Don't get me wrong i loved the game till this mission and i really liked the idea of building up tension in the afterburner approach.
But: If you really burn up all your fuel to reach the kenny in time, you will lack fuel for the afterburners when you try to intercept the skippers in the later part of the mission...
Well enough criticism, i will try the patch tomorrow, today i cannnot hear the sound of dying ships anymore

Thank you for your feedback, we will review it carefully. In the meantime you might want to try the Glide feature (Alt-G). It will help you save your AB fuel.

LOL!
I did know that glide maintains your flight speed, but I wasn't expecting it working with afterburner enhanced speed
Thanks for the hint!
Edit 1:
Ok with your new patch to the skipper missles cloak and decloak timings the mission seems far more "balanced" to me in terms of the total mission difficulty.
Thanks for the hints given by all of you guys (IR Missles, Glide, Positioning!)
