Proxima 2

I've been playing this game and enjoying it a lot, but I've hit a brick wall and can't beat Proxima 2.

I don't know if it's supposed to be this hard, but I'm on the easiest difficulty level, but can't shoot down the missiles, I might be able to get one or two, but not enough.
I've used my missiles to shoot them down, but they aren't enough and I lose my second ship on the 2nd wave and the mission ends.

Apparently there are no cheats, because the developers didn't want people to break their game, unfortunately this means I can't go any further.

Can anyone offer any suggestions, or, even better, a save game for the next level?
Until I get the Excalibur, my shooting is terrible.

I haven't played that mission in a while, so I can't really offer any advice right now, but, if you crash until you die five times onto the Hermes at the beginning of the mission, the game should offer you to skip the mission.

You don't have to win this mission to progress further in the campaign. Aside from a bad debriefing, there are no further consequences.

Thanks, I just killed myself 5 times to progress.
