The Tallahassee heavy cruiser is the most formidable escort warship in the Terran Navy, it can outgun and outlast any fighting warship in the Kilrathi Navy short of a dreadnought. Neither fast nor agile as smaller destroyers and frigates, this warship instead relies on in heavy firepower and armor to bull through Kilrathi capships. Its keel-mounted plasma gun, anti-matter batteries, and missiles serve as invaluable fire-support for fleet actions and orbital bombardment operations.

These cruisers work well in pairs, especially in support of a larger carrier, but they also operate well alone or as a center of a small close action group. Equipped with a small hanger, these cruisers can support a half squadron of fighters and a complement of utility craft.
